Conventional Roof Scan
Verify the integrity of the waterproof membrane and protect the assets below:
No conductive primer or conductive mesh required.
Moisture Scan Conventional Roof Area
SMT can complete the moisture profile of the conventional following scan utilizing a non-invasive moisture meter. If previous infrared scans are available – SMT can focus on the highlighted areas and confirm moisture below the membrane. The ASTM D7954 “Standard Practice for Moisture Surveying of Roofing and Waterproofing Systems using Non-Destructive Electrical Impedance Scanners” shall be used as the basis for the procedure.
Live Moisture Map: Install Moisture Sensors in Test Openings for Future Analysis
Leak and moisture transfer with-in a conventional do not stop when you leave the site! When investigating or reporting on the building with a “cut test” or use of a moisture meter - the results can change overnight or with the next rain event. SMT for over 15 years has been putting moisture sensors into building enclosure assemblies to understand the in-situ thermo-moisture performance. The installation of moisture content, temperature, relative humidity and pressure sensors into conventional roofing assemblies during a cut test can provide valuable data for confirmation that the roof leaks have been found, and that the moisture level in the assembly remains at the desired level for long term thermal and moisture performance.

SMT communicates where repairs are needed while still on site, and provides a detailed report for the client.

The SMT conventional low-slope roof scanning systems work on most roofing decks including metal, wood, and concrete, with various insulation and fastening methods including fully adhered and mechanically fastened systems. We can scan membranes such SBS, single ply TPO and PVC and even EPDM roofing systems.
SMT DigiScan 360
Locate the membrane breach and leak to the exact precise location.
The DigiScan is applied to conventional roofing when the substrate below is known to be wet – and the wet substrate of the protection board, wet insulation facer makes the layer conductive to electricity and used a ground plane in the low-voltage DigiScan.
For scanning waterproof membranes on conventional roof assemblies, SMT uses DigiScan to pin-point the location of the membrane breach and a variety of methods and tools to determine the moisture level below the membrane.
If you are experiencing a roof leak in a conventional roof assembly, or already have images from Infra-red thermography or a moisture map from a non-invasive moisture meter investigation, DigiScan can assist with finding the actual membrane hole in the membrane.
